Description of the Musée d'Orsay in France


Originally this museum was the site of the Orsay railway station. It was classified as a historical monument in 1978. It was inaugrated as a museum by the French government in 1986.

This art museum in Paris now houses an extensive collection of French art spanning 1848 to 1914.

Timings

  -   The museum remains closed on Mondays. It is open on other days.

  -   December 25, January 1 and May 1 are holidays at the museum.


Entry

For adults the ticket price varies between 9$ and 12 $, approximately. Entry is free for all those who are aged 18 and under. Museum tours in English are also available at several rates.
