The Egyptian Museum Berlin

The Egyptian Museum Berlin

The Egyptian museum in Berlin houses one of the most important collections that ancient Egypt can ever boast off. The museum was originated or rather founded with the royal art collections of the Prussian kings and it was on the recommendation of Alexander von Humboldt that the Egyptian section was created and the first flew artifacts were shipped into Berlin, way back in the 1828 under the Friedrich Wilhelm.
For a long time the museum was famous for its revered vividly colored bust of Queen Nefertiti which has since been transferred to the Altes Museum a couple of years ago.
Other artifacts that the Egyptian museum is famous for include the works that belong to different periods of the land of the Pharaohs. The monumental pieces of Egyptian architecture usually try to document the various eras of the Egyptian period right from 4000 BC to the Roman period.
The royal bust of queen Neferitti is the highlight of the museum, yet other valuable artifacts that the museum houses include the sculptured portraits of the royal family and members of the royal court.
Berlin green head is the most important work that has come in the late period and it derives its name from the green stone that the statue is made off.
