Schleswig Cathedral Germany
One of the most significant architectural structures in Schleswig-Holstein, the Schleswig Cathedral in Germany was once the cathedral of Bishop of Schleswig. The cathedral is now the main church of the region.Main attractions at Schleswig Cathedral, Germany:

The Petri Portal
The Petri Portal, built way back in 1180 is the entrance to the Schleswig Cathedral. Created with granite, limestone, tuff and red stone imported from different places, the entrance still looks gorgeous.
There is a portal and a weathered sculpture of a lion on Petri Portal.
The Sacristy
Built around 1480, the sacristry of Schleswig Cathedral, Germany, was used both as a sacristry and a conference room of the Domkapitel until 1567. Later the sacristry was also used as a classroom. But since reformation, it has turned into the tomb for the dukes of Holstein-Gottorp and is called Fürstengruft by the German.
The High Choir
The Gothic high choir of the cathedral was expanded in the late 13th century under Bishop Berthold and was beautifully decorated with fresco paintings depicting various important events of the holy Bible and famous saints and preists. Also noteworthy are the choir banks created by an artist whose pseudoname was Magister rusticus.
The Schwahl
The clositers constructed between 1310 and 1320 and placed at the northern end of the nave is called the Schwahl.
The Brüggemannaltar
Brüggemannaltar is an alter made of oak wood that was carved by Hans Brüggemann. The alter is named after the artist.
Cenotaph of Frederick I
This cenotaph was built in the renaissance period for Frederick I, the king of Denmark and Norway. The northern choir of the cathedral also has cenotaphs of the Duke of Schleswig and Holstein.
The Blue Madonna
Initially called the ‘Holy Family with Johannes’, the Blue Madonna is a painting by Jürgen Ovens. It is now placed on a pillar of the northern nave.
Central Tower
The central tower is the second largest towers in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany.
