Kintaro Restaurant
The Kintaro Restaurant is the oldest Japanese restaurant in the city of Cologne. It comes highly recommended by the patrons and clientele as the restaurant is known to serve excellent quality food and the fare here is very tasty as well. Both the Sushi and Sashimi served here are excellent. The Maguro is a delicate and well prepared dish while tuna, salmon, yakitori (a barbecued chicken dish) and duck are other favorites with the guests. The restaurant specializes in Mozukusu, Japanese seafood served in vinegar, Hijiki (a sea weed based dish) and Tako Su (tender octopi tentacles served on a platter of cucumbers and sea plants laced with vinegar). Rice rolls, Tempura and Vegetable Noodles are also excellent options here. The restaurant is owned and run by Mr. Takusaburo Arakawa and his charming German wife. It is not an unusual sight to catch Mr. Arakawa prepare the fish himself and to meet the specificities of the guest. The couple talks and mingles freely with their customers maintaining a personal relationship with most regulars.
