The Frankfurt Book Fair has a very interesting tradition and is known to have been organized for almost 500 years. The first fair was held by the booksellers in Mainz. However the Fair was later christened as the Leipzig Book Fair. The Book Fair was held in 1949 at the St.Paul’s Church and till then it has been a permanent fixture in Frankfurt.

The Frankfurt Book Fair is restricted exclusively to all trade visitors and the General public on Saturdays and Sundays and the fair usually opens from 9.00am- 6.30pm daily and again till 5.30pm in the evening on Sundays.
