Frankfurt Health and Safety

When talking about Frankfurt health and safety, we can say that Frankfurt is generally considered to be a safe in contrast to other European cities. It’s a considerably safe place to live in and travel to. The crime rates are quite low when measured in international standards. It is not even very dangerous to walk home at night. Murders are not very common on the streets of Frankfurt. Politically motivated crime and xenophobia is not a common thing in Frankfurt. The city is quite cosmopolitan with 22.5% of its population being immigrants.

But, still Frankfurt is Germany’s crime capital only by a small margin. To be more aware of Frankfurt health and safety, it’s a good idea to keep a watch on your steps. Theft, pickpockets and robbery are very much prevalent in the city especially around the subways. The red-light-area around the Hauptbahnhof subway is a place where drug peddling and other related crimes remain on the rise. Shooting galleries have been established in which drugs can be taken but not sold and where clean needles are distributed. Although police and private security patrols around the areas keep things somewhat under control, women, in particular, want to avoid Elbestrasse and Taunusstrasse, which are the main sex drags. It’s advisable to stay with the crowds while traveling around the subways at night. The security personnel always travel in the front carriage of the trains after 10pm.

The health care facilities are quite good out here at Frankfurt. But, a medical insurance is needed to avail of the health facilities. Frankfurt has a health system that is counted as one of the bests in this world. Some of the famous hospitals of Frankfurt are Burgerhospital, Diakonissen Krankenhaus, and Hospital zum Heiligen Geist.
