About the Museum: A part of the Municipal Educational Center for the Blind, this museum displays the progress of the education of the blind for over a century in Germany. There is no such other museum or gallery in Germany that showcases six thousand exhibits relating to blind education. See everything from Braille, relief works to other instruments and aids that are required to help a blind on the way of gaining knowledge and every other spheres of life. The museum traces the history of the education of the blind right from 1843 till the present date. The Blindenmuseum was established in 1995.

Though the museum is not very old, its collection is admirable. See and understand the amount of labor that has gone in the education of the visually impaired. The collections are as significant to the human race as are the historical artifacts showcased by other museums. Blindenmuseum is not only a pride of Hanover but also of Germany.

Admission charges and visiting hours: Admission in the museum is free. However, you are only allowed to enter the museum after gaining the permission of the authority. You must make a prior appointment.
