It covers an area of about 178 acres and stretches for about 2 kilometers from east to west. This park is classified into two halves – eastern and western, by Garmischer Strasse.

There are ponds too which add more to the charm. The ponds contain some water creatures like turtles, carp and goldfish. You can also see a splendid lily pond in the park. Some other notable features of the Westpark, Munich include football grounds and other playfields, outdoor chess, a narrow-gauge railroad, a Kneipp treatment center, a theater by the lake for hosting open-air shows, and two cafes.

The very pleasing and appealing Klein-Asien features a Chinese garden, a Japanese garden, a pagoda and a Thai Sala. The Westpark, Munich also comprises of a man-made stream with small barrages. With its various well-planned play areas furnished with different modern implements, paddling pools, and many more, this park is especially attractive to the kids. It provides wide choices and exciting options of games to the children.

The Westpark, Munich also consists of an exclusive playground meant especially for all those young people who are physically handicapped. In the eastern part of the park, you will notice the little Mollsee which fascinate the boat fanciers. Again it is in this region of the park where you will get to see the Rudi Sedlmayer Sports Hall. In this hall, many pop and rock music performances and sports events are hosted quite often. A typical herb garden and a variety of medicinal plant species are found at Bayerwaldhaus.
