Gutenberg Museum located in Mainz in Germany is one of the oldest and most popular museums of printing. The museum was founded to commemorate the works and achievements of Johann Gutenberg. The museum also displayed the printing and writing of different cultures and tradition. This popular museum on printing was inaugurated in the year 1900.

In the beginning the Gutenberg Museum was established in two rooms at the Kurfürstliches Schloß. In the year 1912 the museum moved into the new library building on the Rheinallee. In the year 1925, Gutenberg's workshop was installed. In the year 1927 the museum move into the Romischer Kaiser. In this popular building the museum's administration, the restoration workshop, library and Gutenberg Society are sheltered.
