Western Market Hong Kong

Western Market Hong Kong

Built on an Edwardian style, this market was previously known as the Harbor Office. Afterwards it turned out to be a food market and a historical monument respectively. At present this newly renovated market, Western Market, Hong Kong serves for commercial and trading purposes.

Located on the Connaught Road, the market is actually housed in a four storey building constructed out of red bricks. It features an array of shops and small stalls displaying and offering a varied range of items like rare and antique pieces, bright silk and sober fabric garments and much more. The garment related products are also available on the first floor of the building. Traditional Chinese handicrafts and souvenirs are also available in this market. You can witness and observe Chinese art and culture as is reflected in the hand made furniture pieces. If you get tired of shopping, the market also has provision for it. There is a Chinese restaurant on the top floor where you can rest and relax over some light refreshments or a full course traditional Chinese meal. It is open from 11 am to midnight.

The Western Market, Hong Kong is open from 10 am to 5 pm everyday. There is no admission charge required to enter this market. From this area you can go to other popular places like Causeway Bay, Happy Valley and Wanchai by a traditional double decker tram.
