Buddha Garden or the Buddha Jayanti Park is one of the many newly laid gardens of Delhi. laid to commemorate the 2500th anniversary of attainment of Nirvana by Lord Buddha, the sprawling lush green Buddha Garden in Delhi has been beautifully decorated with manicured lawns, streams, sloping terrain and gargantuan trees. The Buddha garden is fairly new and has a sagacity of freshness in its every corner.

Buddha Jayanti Park is positioned amidst thick forest of the Southern ridge of Delhi. It covers a considerable portion of the ridge. This park occupies an extraordinary place in Indian spiritual tradition as a sapling of the original Bodhi Tree was transported from Sri Lanka and planted here. It is from the same Bodhi tree beneath which Lord Buddha got illumination at Bodh Gaya in Bihar. Later in 261BC, Kunal, the son of monarch Ashoka, took a sapling from that tree and put it in Sri-Lanka.

Young courting couples who can be seen getting cozy in every possible corner of the garden admire the Buddha Jayanti Park in Delhi. The park also arranges Buddhism classes on regular basis. Among the attendants most are from foreign countries. Children can avail game facility inside the park.
