Nai Sarak consists of a large wholesale and retail market consisting mainly of college and school textbooks. You can reach Nai Sarak by taking a left turn from the Paranthewali Gali in Delhi. You can also take a right turn from Chawri Bazaar Road if are heading from the Jama Masjid direction.

The street is named as ‘Nai Sarak’ because it was a new road that was constructed by the British after the war of 1857. The street is lined with two-storey edifices that reflect the architectural styles of the 20th century. The lower storey of these buildings houses the shops that sell books like children’s books, textbooks and books in various languages.
