Taipan was awarded the title The Best Chinese Restaurant in Delhi by The Times Food Guide 2003, Times of India. Chef Sam Wong was chiefly responsible in winning the restaurant this accolade. His Dim Sum and Peking Duck seem to have earned the favor of the patrons of this restaurant. Chef Thian Ng took over as the new executive chef of the restaurant in 2004 and has effectively added a number of colorful and scrumptious dishes to the menu. Besides a traditional and elaborate Peking Duck, the regulars here swear by the Chicken Tapering Chili, Deep Fried Lotus Stems, Dim Sums, Fried Chicken Balls with Chilli Sauce, Golden Fried Prawns and Pok-Choi With Black Mushrooms. Excellent clear and thick soups and delicious desserts complement the meals here. The ambience here is dreamy and the spectacular view of the Delhi Golf Course is a ravishing accompaniment to the meal.

It is advisable to reserve a table beforehand at the Taipan to avoid disappointment. Come weekend, the restaurant is especially crowded and it is essential to make reservations before you visit the restaurant.
