The Goa Dabolim airport is the only sole airport of Goa. It is basically a military airport. However civil flights are permitted when ten fields get spared from the military uses. The Dabolim airport apart from handling the regular flights also handles a large number of chartered flights. The airport is operated by a number of airlines companies and all of them are domestic. The list includes the Indian airlines, Alliance air, Jet airways and the Sahara India. The Dabolim airport houses almost all of the facilities of a modern day international airport. There are snack bars, restaurants, phone booths and venues for foreign money exchanges apart from the custom shops where one can shop for the typical Goan items like liquors, cigarettes, chocolates, electronic, crockery and watches. Dabolim being the only International airport caters to all the international and ten domestic tourists who come to visit the picturesque lad of the sea beaches.

Location of Dabolim airport:

The Goa Dabolim airport is located at a distance of 30 kms from the capital city Panjim. The airport was built by the Portuguese Government in the 1950’s and until the year 1961 the Dabolim airport served for a Portuguese airline that ran regular scheduled flights from Karachi, Mozambique, Timor and other destinations. However at present the air traffic control of Dabolim airport is controlled by the Indian navy.
