Apart from these temples, there is also St. Andrews Church that had been established by the Portuguese a long time ago. You can also spend some of your time shopping in Alappuzha, as there are plenty of exclusive carpets that are sold here. The Alappuzha city is also famous for its pepper, coconut oil, areca nut and spices like cardamom. The place is also famous for its coir industry. You can try buying some of the local coir products.

What you will enjoy most in Alappuzha is the natural scenery. You can also go for bird watching for the place is home to various rare migratory birds.
