This theatrical auditorium in Kolkata is situated in a posh area of the city, on Shakespeare Sarani. Kala Mandir was established in November 1968 under a trust named Sangeet Kala Mandir Trust, founded by Mr. G.D. Birla. The then Prime Minister of India, Late Morarji Desai, inaugurated it.
