Worli Suburb, Mumbai is one of the largest part of Mumbai. Worli is located in the South Mumbai extending from Colaba to Prabhadevi. Worli is bordered by the vast Arabian Sea. It neighbours are Haji Ali, Mahalaxmi, and Prabhadevi in the east. The most near by railway station to Worli is Mahalaxmi. Originally only seven islands constituted the city of Mumbai and Worli was one of the seven. Worli was actually a fishing village with the Worli fort which was built by the Britishers. The well known mosque, Haji Ali Dargah lies near the sea rocks. Lately in about 1784, Worli was connected to the main island of Mumbai. The pumping station, Love Grove was completed in 1842. The special sluice gates open to the sea which is specially opened in the time of low tide.
