The Mysore Tourist Information Centers help the tourists in planning their trip properly, by helping them out with places of accommodation, major sites of interest, train and bus schedules, and providing them with maps, guides and all that is needed for an efficient vacation. In fact, the Mysore Tourist Information Centers have been set up with the aim of helping out these visitors, both national and international.
The Mysore Agenda Task Force has set up a Mysore Visitor Information Centre in the Mysore zoo, as on 8 th may, 2005, which will serve to assist the tourists, and act as one of the Mysore Tourist Information Centers. The center will provide details on places of tourist interest in and around Mysore, apart from providing helpful books and guides related to tourism in Mysore. In fact, a number of Mysore Tourist Information Centers have been planned to be set up at railway station, the KSRTC bus stand and other major junctions in Mysore.
The Mysore Agenda Task Force, with support from the Department of Tourism and Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), has set up a number of kiosks, to serve the functions of the Mysore Tourist Information Centers. The kiosks have been set up at Mysore-Bangalore Highway, Mysore-Madikeri Highway, and the Mysore-Ooty Road.
