A beautiful city, Trivandrum has over the recent years blossomed into a thriving tourist hot spot. Even until then, though, the city had its share of visitors. Mostly, all these visitors came to the city of Trivandrum mainly for the purpose of pilgrimage; what with there being numerous shrines and temples all over the city. Much of the weather of Trivandrum results from the location of the city of Trivandrum. Located right at the southern most tip of the state of Kerala, it is natural that the Trivandrum weather is coastal and highly humid. Also, being the city of Trivandrum is in the western coast of the country of India; at the extreme of the mainland; and hence makes for a great port city. A no man's land between the Western Ghats and waters of the Arabian Sea, the city has the best of both the hills and the coastal plains; after all it is the capital city of a state which is called ‘God's Own Country'.

Not too far from the Equator, the Trivandrum weather is essentially tropical and bears all the traits of tropical climate. Also, the Trivandrum weather is just like that of most other coastal cities in India. This aspect of the weather of Trivandrum also makes sure that there is not much of a seasonal temperature variation with the change in seasons. Generally humid, the humidity further rockets during the monsoons from the month of June. The winter months arrive with December and last up till February. Summers begin from March and continue until the monsoons.

However, though the general Trivandrum weather conditions are almost the same everywhere, there is a slight difference in the climate that prevails on the hills and valleys from that of the lowlands.
