This place is located about 2 kilometers south of Yogyakarta Palace.

Description: The place has been built by the Portuguese architect in the European aquatic construction style. This was actually built in the era of Sultan Hamengku Buwono 1 Period. The place is actually a recreation center with swimming pools and resting rooms, canals and other features which are as follows:
  - Sacred Room is a very important feature in Taman Sari and was once reputed for being the hermitage place for the Sultan and the family.
  - There is also a Bathing Pool which consists of a two bathing pools and are separated from the two storey building. The poolside was decorated with flowers and other adornments. The Sultan used to find pleasure in watching the women bathe here according to popular belief.
  - Kenanga Island is actually a compound comprising of Sumur Gemuling and underground tunnels. These tunnels were the perfect escape routes for all those in the Sultan's family and also served as the perfect hiding place for all those who wanted to hide.
  - There is also a very important palace like The Sultan palace and is a very important tourist destination in Yogyakrta.
  - There is also a Masjjd Sokotunggal which is a magnificent mosque and is quite renowned.
