Jerusalem Half-Marathon happens to be a special event in Jerusalem where runners from different parts of the world compete on a course. The event is held every year in the end of March or in the beginning of April. Runners have two options when taking part in the Half-Marathon. Either they can opt for a 21 km Half-Marathon or they can opt for the shorter 10 km Fun Run. According to the norms of the game runners start and finish at the Givat Ram's stadium.

Overview of Jerusalem Half-Marathon- Simon Avraham the director of the Jerusalem municipality Sports and Recreation Department and coordinator of the day’s events, Half-Marathon in Jerusalem has carved a niche for itself on the national and international racing scenes since the inaugural competition held in year1992. It may be mentioned here that to increase the popularity of Half-Marathon, Jerusalem has developed a `sister race` relationship with the Berlin Marathon which happens to be Europe’s largest and one of the important sport’s competitions. Hundreds of spectators throng Jerusalem to witness this sport. Each contestant who participated in the Half-Marathon is generally awarded with a T-shirt, certificate and a medal followed by a grand dinner. The 15th annual Jerusalem Half Marathon held in March 2007 was no exception to it. Jerusalem gave a warm welcome to the 2,000 runners of the Half-Marathon. The countries which participated in the Half-Marathon included Ethiopia, Holland, Kenya and few others.
