Fukuoka, the oldest city of Japan located at the northern shore of the island of Kyushu not only boasts of the 234m tall Fukuoka Tower which is the most prominent land mark of the city but it also takes immense pride as Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks, one of Japan's top professional baseball teams.

Fukuoka Daiei Hawks was the first baseball team of Fukuoka, which was later changed to Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks. Fukuoka Daiei Hawks shares the glory of winning the Pacific League Baseball championship in 1999, 2000 and 2003 and won the Japan Series in 1999 and 2003.

The Fukuoka Dome is the most popular baseball field located in Fukuoka and the stadium serves as the headquarters of the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks. In 2005, “Yahoo! Japan” one of SoftBank's subsidiaries, bought the stadium's right and thus renamed stadium as "Fukuoka Yahoo! Japan Dome", which is one of the leading baseball stadium of Japan at present.
