Maizuru Park Fukuoka
Maizuru Park is one of the most beautiful parks that are just within the Fokuoka Castle grounds. This park is quite small in comparison to Ohori Koen, the much larger and better-known park. Some believe that the two parks are the same. Besides the park management, the events patronized by the two parks are distinct. Maizuru Park has a respectable track for joggers and walkers. This park also has much lesser crowd than Ohori-koen. There is also a small stage for occasional events and plenty of open area for picnics and other activities.Maizuru Park is composed mainly of Fukuoaka Castle grounds and is enclosed on two sides by the remains of the castle walls and its moat. Some parts of the park are under archeological excavation as this is one of the older parts of the city. When you visit Fukuoka Castle, do take time off to spend some happy hours in Maizuru Park and if possible try having a relaxing walk. One can has a glorious view of the city from the viewing platform in the park. It also has the Heiwadai athletics track.
