He had made his living as a bartender serving in several famous hotels and attending to many celebrity guests, after which he had opened his own Bar in Kobe.

The Smokey Bar in Kobe is a very small place, with space for only eight people by the bar counter. The ambience is very casual and does not even have a formal menu card. Snacks are also served with drinks. Mostly regulars who come here to spend their entire evenings frequent this place. Due to lack of space the regular customers usually call up to book a seat.

The Smokey Bar, Kobe is unique in many ways. Being the oldest bar, it has its own story to tell and Kamogawa-san being a very friendly person is more than eager to share his tale with you.
