The McLoughlin’s Irish Bar and Restaurant in Kyoto is located on the eighth floor of the Empire Building in Kiyamachi. The building is to the north of Sanjo. McLoughlin’s Irish Bar and Restaurant is the only bar-cum-restaurant which is owned as well as operated by the Irish. As soon as you take you entry into the bar/restaurant, we will be greeted by the two owners of the place; one of them is Chef Tadg, who was formerly a part of Tadg's Irish Pub and the other owner is Mika.
Kyoto’s McLoughlin’s Irish Bar and Restaurant opens at 6 o’ clock in the evening and closes at around 1 o’ clock in the morning. This is the case on the normal weekdays. But on Fridays and Saturdays, the bar is open until 3 o’ clock in the morning. The interiors of McLoughlin’s are quite spacious. Take your friends and dear ones and place the order for your favorite Japanese delicacies, specialty cuisines and drinks. Enjoy the live music playing as you look over the window to see a beautiful view of the temples and mountain ranges of east Kyoto. The prices are quite reasonable. Early bird menu is served between 6pm to 7pm. You can avail three courses at around 2000 Japanese yen.
