An interesting structure that beckons you once you are in the city of Nagoya is the Television tower that is the oldest in the whole island of Japan and it was built way back in the 1950s.

The Nagoya TV tower has the uncanny ability to remind you of the Eiffel tower and is one hundred and eighty meters high. The tower performs dual functions one that of television transmission and another being the first observatory balcony of Japan. The tower transmits television signals to about five television stations and it has found its way in the celluloid with the movie Godzilla vs. Mothra in which the character Battra attacks Nagoya and is shown destroying the tower after being assaulted by missiles from the tanks.

The Nagoya TV tower observatory presents some breathtaking views of the city and beyond, which includes the likes of Nobi plains, Ise Bay, the Suzuka and Yoro Mountains. You can also catch a glimpse of the Chubu Sangaku Mountains provided the sky is clear. There are nearly four hundred and thirty steps to take you from top to bottom and is open throughout the year except when weather Gods is not favorable.
