Getting to Osaka by Air

With so many convenient modes of transport available today, visiting Osaka has never been easier. Osaka hosts two airports - Kansai International Airport and Itami Airport.

Kansai International Airport in Osaka

Osaka boasts of Japan's newest international airport, Kansai . Kansai International Airport (KIX) is Japan's second most important international airport. Reputed to be the world's largest and Japan's first 24-hour airport, Kansai International Airport is expected to make Osaka a much more important arrival and departure point. Osaka's Kansai International Airport receives both domestic and international flights.

Kansai Airport has only one terminal building. Various train and bus lines connect the airport with the nearby cities of Osaka, Kyoto, Kobe and surroundings. A direct high speed ferry connection to Kobe was discontinued in 2002.

The two major domestic airlines that fly into Kansai International Airport are All Nippon Airways and Japan Airlines .

There are a number of transit services that provide transportation from Kansai International Airport to Osaka and destinations throughout Japan.

Itami Airport in Osaka
