Hama Rikyu Garden Tokyo
Old-timers in Tokyo are scratching their heads for while on one hand forests of cranes are budding and building zones are rapidly increasing, on the other hand greenery is missing day by day. However, a view of the green Hama-Rikyu Garden would probably cite a stunning contrast to the materialized Tokyo. If you are a tourist in Tokyo and roaming around the city throughout the morning, the lush green atmosphere of this park would surely offer you a grassy bed to take a little break in the bright sun. What attracts visitors towards Hama-Rikyu Garden is primarily a magnificent salt-water pond. With the pattern of tides in Tokyo Bay the water in the pond rises and falls throughout the day. As a result, the landscape of the garden constantly changes. This park is fairly wild as well as woody in places.
Hama-Rikyu Garden had been an official duck hunting ground in the 17th century (Edo era). Duck hunting continued until 1944.
In spring, rape blossoms turn the garden a rich yellow. It's also identified for its peonies that flower in late April and a three hundred-year-old pine tree.
