Pulau Tioman Malaysia

Pulau Tioman in Malaysia is a popular tourist destination.Pulau Tioman is situated about 44 km offshore from Mersing on the southeast coast of Peninsular Malaysia. It is the third largest island off the coast of Peninsular Malaysia. The park encompasses the waters around Tioman, and the smaller offshore islands such as Pulau Labas, Pulau Sepoi, Pulau Gut, Pulau Tokong Bahara, Pulau Chebeh and Pulau Tulai, as well as Pulau Sembilang and Pulau Seri Buat which are further away.
The best time to visit the Pulau Tioman is between June to Septmeber. This is the period when maximum visitors come to the park. It is not a good time to visit the park during the monsoons season as sea crossing may be quite rough until March.
Some of the activities that you could indulge in at the Pulau Tioman Park include bird watching, snorkeling and diving and golf. You could watch dolphins and snakes in the sea. The coastal areas of the sea and the forest are great spots for bird watching. Sea turtles or green turtles usually nest on the island near Kampung Nipah and Pulau Tulai) between May and September. Reef life is prevalent in Pulau Renggis, Pulau Chebeh, Tiger Reef, Malang Rock, and Pulau Labas.
Some of the stuff you need to carry while visiting Pulau Tioman are the things that you need for spending a day on the beach such as a hat, sun cream etc. Snorkeling and diving equipment are available on rent at the island. Trekking gear and camping equipment are available if you want to trek up to Gunung Kajang.

There are direct flights to Pulau Tioman from Kuala Lumpur, Kuantan and Singapore to the island. You could also reach Pulau Tioman by road through Mersing in Johor and then take a ferry to Kampung Tekek which is the west coast of Tioman. A ferry might take 1.5 to 4 hours depending on the sea conditions and the type of craft.
