Mega Pavilion in Penang was renamed as the Cathay Cineplexes Sdn Bhd in September 2004. Mega Pavilion in Penang became an intrinsic part of the Cathay Cineplexes’ operations when Cathay Organization Holdings Ltd acquired the entire share capital of Cathay Organization Holdings (M) Sdn Bhd in 2002.

On 28 August 1997, Cathay Cineplex opened its first cineplex at Kompleks Bukit Jambul, Penang which added a new dimension to the entire scenario of cinema in Penang. Mega Pavilion is located at Kompleks Bukit Jambul 3A-5-06, Jalan Rumbia, 11900 Penang and it offers 6 screens lavishly spread on an area of 24,000 sq ft.

Mega Pavilion provides excellent sound system which enhances the luxury of plunging into the décor oh the cozy seats of the cinema hall. Mega Pavilion enchants its visitors with 4 by 3 screens video wall and extensive technologically developed sound facilities comprising of Dolby Digital Surround EX, SDDS, DTS and Dolby Digital.
