International Video Arts Festival Casablanca

Of the many creative, non-religious and artistic festivals and events in Morocco is the International Video Arts Festival in Casablanca is the most significant. It is also a symbol of the city's, and in turn also Morocco's, acknowledgement of the world and a wider global context. The International Video Arts Festival of Casablanca is generally sponsored by the "Université Hassan II - Mohammedia" or the "University Hassan II Mohammedia" and it is hosted by the "Faculté des Lettres et des Sciences Humaines Ben M'sik" or "The Faculty of Arts and Social sciences Ben M'sik". The International Video Arts Festival in Casablanca is generally held in March.

This year, 2007, will see the 14th International Video Arts Festival of Casablanca. Being hosted for 14 years in succession, the International Video Arts Festival of Casablanca is also witnesses a convergence of the artistic sensibilities of people - whether students or professionals - from the world over. The events of the International Video Arts Festival of Casablanca last for around a week or so. During this span of time, the event takes the responsibility of showcasing the different videos shot by different people of different backgrounds, but focusing on the same topics. In 2007 the International Video Arts Festival of Casablanca is scheduled to be held from between the 19th of March to the 29th of March and will focus will be on the topic "the body in the contemporary creation". Some of the regular participants of the festival, aside of Morocco itself are Canada, Spain, the United States of America, Japan, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Egypt and Lebanon.
