Transportation in Fez

Getting around in Fez in Morocco is easy due to its good transportation system. Once you get to Fez, you have a choice of different transports to explore this beautiful old city.

Transportation in Fez includes bus, car or taxi.

Fez el-Bali, the old inner city built by Moulay Idriss II, is one of the few car-free zones in the world. If you are taking a car, you can leave it in the newer Ville Nouvelle area and walk into the old city through the beautiful Bab Bouljard.

Leave the car in the garage. The covered parking facilities having 24 hour guard service will cost you 20 to 40 Dirham, for overnight parking.

Bus services are good, but the most convenient way of getting around Fez is by grand taxis or share taxis. If you don't want to share a taxi, you can charter a taxi only for youself.

Petit taxis carrying maximum 3 passengers are comfortable too. They are metered and the price within the city is usually not more than 10 Dirham.

You may need a guide to properly explore the alleys and by-alleys of fascinating Fez. Alternatively, carry a map of Fez in your pocket and get footloose in Fez!
