Queen Charlotte Sound is one of the easternmost sounds of the Marlborough Sounds, the extended maze of sheltered waterways in the north-eastern nook of the South Island of New Zealand. It is a beautiful drowned valley that runs southwest to before merging with the Cook Strait. If you are lucky enough then you can suddenly spot a wild pig while walking down the track of the Queen Charlotte Sound, especially the region between the Punga Cove and Portage during the winter months. But don't get scared by them as these pigs come out only in search of food and will run way from the walkers.
