New Zealand Time Zones

According to different Regions in the world there are different Time Zones. These Times Zones maintain equal standard time in each zone, also referred to as local time.
New Zealand is divided into two time zones.
The main islands maintain New Zealand Standard Time (NZST), which is 12 hours in advance of Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), while the Chatham Islands use Chatham Standard Time (CHAST), which is 12:45 in Advance of UTC. Tokelau is 11 hours behind UTC.

Summers start from October to March, during the summers the Daylight timing is observed and clocks are advanced to one hour. Thus the Day light Time of New Zealand is 13 hrs ahead of UTC and the ay light time of Chatham is 13 hrs and 45 minutes

Daylight Saving Time
The Daylight Saving Time Act came into being in 1929. This act allows Governor-General to state by Order in Council a time when Daylight Time is to be observed. The Act states that the NZDT is one hour in advance of NZST. This Act starts its action from the second Sunday in October to the third Sunday in March of the next year. Time is set 30 minutes in advance during that time.
