Muscat Festival is the biggest annual event of Oman. The festival unfurls Oman's traditional arts, culture and heritage and also providing its people with fun, adventure and entertainment. Along with this, the F estival of Muscat is playing a dominant role in establishing and strengthening the country's flourishing tourism and hospitality industry.

Started in 1998, the Muscat Festival had millions of visitors from the region as well as from other parts of the world. It has become a popular choice among the Tourist attractions in Muscat who plan their trip to coincide with the event. It has mesmerized them through absorbing events and activities which demonstrated the true essence of Oman. Along with the cultural extravaganza there are a good deal of shopping activities. The Muscat Festival was held from January 1 to February 2, 2007 this year. New features were added to the earlier ones to make this year's event more interesting. This year the slogan was 'Living Culture and Family Fun', which the event lived up to in its true terms The venue for the festival were at Qurum Park, Azaiba and Seeb Beach. The festival drew over 3 million visitors.

There were replicas of different regional countries. People of respective countries man the souqs which showcase the art, cuisine, handicrafts and music of the region adding a touch of enjoyment to the air. Artists from around the world performed at the festival. There were drama groups, singers and famous bands from Lebanon, Egypt, Kuwait, Syria and other regional countries who enchanted the audience with their performances. A special show from India's famous film industry featured in the event. The Globals Village in Azaiba featuring trade fair and stage shows had more number of countries participating.
