Oman Population
Musket, the largest city in Oman as well as its capital, holds about half the population of the country. The primary religion practiced in Oman is Ibadhi Muslim, which is followed by over one third of the Oman Population . The other religions in practiced in Oman are Sunni Muslim, Shi'a Muslim and Hinduism. Arabic is the official language of Oman, other languages in currency in Oman include Arabic, English, Baluchi, Urdu and many Indian dialects.
The government of Oman's unreserved emphasis on education from the school level to the higher education levels has lead to the opening of many schools and technical colleges. The literacy of Oman may yet be improved upon, with figures of 75.8% as it stands. Of the total male population 83.1% are literate, while female literacy, which is quite an issue amongst the female activists, hands at 67.2.
