Taif is one of the popular destinations near Riyadh. This popular city lies in the Mecca province of Saudi Arabia. . This place is located at a height of about 17000 meters on the slopes of the celebrated Al- Sarawat Mountains. Taif is basically a agricultural area which is famous for its honey and grapes. Moreover, there are many tourist attraction located in Taif like Wadi Mitna ,Al Shafa and others which are regularly visited by people from all over the world.

Al Rudaf Park situated on the south of Taif is a large natural park. Here, the visitors will come across many tress dotted amidst splendid weathered granite rocks. The location also has a small zoo where you can come across many animals and birds.
Another popular tourist destination of Taif near Riyadh is the well known Rock Carving Site. This popular venue is located at a distance of approximately 40 kilometers from the north of Taif. This venue was known for its social, commercial and political gatherings which were held annually in this venue. The buildings of this site have walls of basaltic stone.

Turkish Fort is another popular venue which is a must see for the visitors of Taif. The Turkish fort is situated near the Rock Carvings. It is believed that the Lawrence of Arabia fought in this venue in the historic year of 1917. Many battles are said to be fought in this venue. The visitors will also come across numerous graves in this location.

While on a tour to Taif nearby Riyadh the visitors can also pay a visit to Wadi Mitna. It is said that Mohammed came to this venue to get support of the Tawfiq and the Hawazeen but unfortunately he was stoned by the tribes. Later on, he was provided shelter by his supporters in a small house. This house is nowadays has become a mosque. Pilgrims visit this place to offer prayers in large numbers.
