Trains run from 5.30a.m to 12.30a.m, every three to eight minutes, and every station has an electronic signboard that reflects the time left for the next train to arrive.

The North East Line (NEL) A 20-km fully underground line, it consists of 16 stations covering HarbourFront in the South to Punggol in the North East.

The Light Rapid Transit (LRT) is a feeder service of the MRT that primarily serves the heartland housing estates. Only selected estates such as Bukit Panjang New Town and Sengkang are connected. Because the LRT is a shorter trip, fares range from S$0.60 to S$1.00.
