Originally an underground command center of the British Malaya Command Headquarters, the Battle Box is one of the most historical sites of Singapore. In 1942, during the Second World War, the British forces surrendered the Japanese in Singapore. The Battle Box Museum, Singapore showcases the real story of the historical surrender.

Located on Canning Rise, Battle Box Museum, Singapore consists of 22 rooms, which are bomb proof and has the unique ability to recycle the air supply. The museum is equipped with special audio as well as visual equipments to create animations and relive the historical day, 15 February 1942, the day when Singapore was surrendered to the Japanese forces.

The special equipments at the Battle Box Museum, Singapore makes sounds of air raids and bomb blasts to create the same feeling among the visitors as that felt by the inhabitants of the underground center years ago. The bunkers are kept in an untouched state, which adds to the uniqueness of the museum. A special feature of the Battle Box Museum, Singapore is the 24 life-sized officers to make the museum seem more realistic.

The museum is open every day of the week between 10 am and 6 pm. the entry fee is extremely nominal.
