The original location of the Merlion Park in Singapore was at Esplanade Bridge. It is the main site for tourist attraction at Singapore. It was established in the year 1972 when the Prime Minister of Singapore known as Lee Kuan Yew inaugurated the Merlion Park in Singapore. Today the original location has been shifted to somewhere else. It is adjacent to Fullerton.

Known as Merlion Statue it weighs approximately 70 tones and is 8.6 meters high. The renowned architect known as Mr. Lim Nang Seng has constructed it with cement. There is also a second statue, which is smaller in size. It weighs 3 tones and is 2 meters high. It was also the architectural display of the reputed Lim Nang Seng. The body of this statue consists of cement, while the skin has been made exclusively from porcelain plates. The eyes are made from small red teacups available at Singapore.
