Busan Subway
Busan Transport Corporation operates the Busan Subway in Busan. The subway started in 1985 with only 17 stations. Busan subway was last expanded in 2005 and after expansion it now consists of 3 lines with 86 stations and is f about 88.4 km of tracks. Busan subway is still under construction for the extension of line 2 and 3 which is scheduled to be completed by 2012. After finishing the entire system of Busan subway will include 105 stations of 112.4 km tracks. Busan subway is user friendly as both sign and voice instructions are given in both English and Korean language.Three lines of Busan Subway
Line 1 also known as the orange line is of the north south route and has 34 stations. The first train starts from stations of Sinpyeong and Nopo-dong at 5:10 am and the last train arriving in Sinpyeong at 12:35 am. The total ride through the entire line takes about 1 hour and 10minutes.
Line 2 known as the Green Line crosses Busan from east to west and runs along the coastline of Haeundae and Gwanganli. Thisline has 39 stations. First trains leaving the stations of Jangsan, Gwangan and Jeonpo at 5:20 am, for Hopo, and leaving Hopo at 5:15 am, towards Jangsan. The last train from Jangsan arrives in Jeonpo at 12:18 am and Hopo at 12:45 am, and the last trains from Hopo arriving in Jeonpo at 12:21 am and Jangsan at 12:38 am. A ride through the entire line takes about 1 hour 15 minutes.
Line 3 is called the Brown line, has 17 stations had screen doors. The size of the cars is smaller than those in Line 2 and Line 1. Frist train starts from Suyeong and Daejeo at 5:10 am and the last train arriving in Suyeong at 12:22 am and Daejeo at 00:41. A ride through the entire line takes about 34 minutes.
