Buddhas of Yeomburam Hermitage, Donghwasa, Daegu Temple is almost a 4-meter tall Buddha which dates back to the Unified Silla period (668-935).
Inscribed on the surface of a giant rock, The Buddha of the Yeomburam Hermitage, Donghwasa, Daegu Temple is seated on a lotus pedestal. To lend a godly touch to the inscription clouds have been carved just below the pedestal. Another 4.5 meter tall Buddha decorates the southern face of the rock. This particular inscription too depicts Lord Buddha in the sitting posture but the leg remains covered by the long robe. It is generally presumed that this particular inscription has been carved out during the Goryeo period (918-1392). The two inscriptions of Buddhas have been given the status of Local Tangible Cultural Property on May 30, 1985.
