Celestial bodies. This observatory is the first of its kind in Korea in terms of accessibility for ordinary people to observe astronomy. The special features of Daejeon Observatory include:

  • During the day you can observe the sun, and at night observations of other celestial bodies such as planets, nebulas, and clusters of stars, the Miky Way are available through its astronomical telescopes.
  • There is a main Observation Room that boasts of a 25 cm refractive telescope with automatic searching and tracking of celestial bodies.
  • The supplementary Observation Room is a sliding dome, 6.6 m wide and 11.7 m long.
  • The museum also includes a Planetarium that shows the planets and the stars in the night sky.
