Incheon Marine Festival

Incheon is a place that is located near the sea and the place is known for holding gorgeous festive activities in the areas of Wangsan Beach on the island of Yongyudo every year in early August.

The festival acts a coolant and brings down the sizzling heat that the place is subjected to during the previous months.
The festival is actually held in the areas of Wolmi Island and Incheon port under the subject of the Incheon Sea.
A host of events are held in the sidelines of the marine festival to rejuvenate the atmosphere this includes marine tour, sea fishing contest, Manila Clam shelling contest and auction of marine products which can take you by surprise.

There are unique experiences like hand fishing contests, wetland experience events in the Muui Island and collecting sun dried salt from Marine Ecology Park. It also provides you the opportunity to experience the first light house in Korea that started operations way back in 1903 on a naval hovercraft. One can enjoy the on board concert on the Cosmos Tourist ship and relish the display on the latest navel warship and hovercraft of Marine Police in the lock gate of Incheon Port and Naval Wharf.

There is a spectacular parade of naval vessels and patrol ship for at least one hour and to top it all there is a spectacular display of marine firework in the coast after vessel parade.

Other than these one does get the opportunity to explore uninhabited islands and become beach heroes and heroines since there are specific contests to find them.
There are live beach concerts to add to the ambience of the festival and last but not the least there are several marine friendly programs.

The festival occurs every year in August and attracts a huge crowd from all over the country, especially people who have a genuine interest in marine activities.
