Getting to Incheon
Located near Seoul, Incheon is a metropolitan city and a major sea port. Incheon can be reached easily from anywhere as it is very well connected by roads, railways, and sea and is the home of a new international airport.Asiana Airlines and Korean Air, fly both domestic and international routes. Most of the international airlines operate international flights to Incheon International Airport from Seoul. This is the most convenient way to reach Incheon.
Korea National Railroad operates an extensive network of rails. Seoul does not see any international train in the station. Local Train services are very well connected and have a good frequency. If traveling around for a few days it is cheaper to buy Rail Passes (KR Pass) which allow unlimited traveling in Korea for up to 10 days. This pass is only available in Japan and America at the moment. Saemaeul, Mugunghwa are fast trains. If one does not want to travel in air-conditioned compartments then Tongil can be availed as it is cheap. Bidulgi and Kkachi are slow trains which consumes valuable traveling time.
Tourists will find long distance share taxis for going between big cities and major sight-seeing. The fares are bargained before setting off as these cabs are not metered. Bus services in most cities are frequent but the non-Koreans may find it difficult to travel as the stoppage name is written in Korean. There are deluxe taxis available which is quite comfortable and the driver too hospitable. They can speak English and can communicate better. Korea has a good network of roads.
Ferry services are available from the mainland to offshore islands and several lakes. The port is easily accessible to many international ports of eastern Asia. But this passage requires a special permission for traveling and landing at Incheon
