Ganghwado Island, Incheon is the fifth largest island in Korea and is sited in the West Sea. Composed of 11 inhabited and 17 uninhabited islands,its beaches are 99 km long.  The Ganghwa Bridge links the island with the mainland.

The Ganghwado Island, Incheon is situated in the estuary of the Han River. The population is about 65,500 and is a division of Incheon Municipality. Mani-san, 469 meters above the sea level is the highest point of the Ganghwado Island, Incheon. There are many ancient artifacts on the Ganghwado Island, Incheon like the Goindol Rocks which has been designated as World’s Cultural Treasure. The rulers of the Ganghwado Island, Incheon in the Bronze Age were buried in the Goindol graves. There are around 80 such stone graves around the island.  The founding figure, Dangunwanggeom has also left straces in this island. 

Walking up the many steps of Chamseongdan in Mani Mountain, will take you to a peak from where the West Sea and the inland can be seen.

Ganghwado Island, Incheon is famous for its local products like the medicinally effective Ganghwa Ginseng and pure-Ganghwa radish with its peculiar taste.

Ganghwado Island is famous for Hwamunseok, a mat woven with flower patterns. Hwamunseok is as a representative traditional Korean product, with its intricate handwork and designs.
