In 2008 two big American hospitals will be coming up. The medical professionals and the civic authorities are opposing the move but the government is strongly supporting it. This will help to improve the economic condition of the city. Four medical schools from Pennsylvania will be coming up to establish medical schools in Incheon.


Incheon hospitals are planning to hire the best and most professional medical personnel in the world. Johns Hopkins, Harvard and Columbia are the three other schools who are planning to come up in Incheon.

The Incheon hospitals are requested to pay the taxes but the government has planned to exempt the foreign hospitals from the taxes. There would be other facilities for these hospitals which will help in the global development of the city. Soon the city will become a hub of North East Asia. In this process there will be foreign capital participation.

The foreign-managed hospitals will be located in the Songdo District that will be connected via a new bridge to the island where the Incheon International Airport is located and directly accessible via car from Seoul. Thus the city of Incheon is going to come up with a wide range of hospitals.
