Jeju Racecourse was completed in 1990, and since them has been serving as a major stopover for the Jeju island visitors. Jeju Racecourse is set at the base of Mt.Hallasan which lays 450 meters above sea level, giving a stunning view of the Baekrokdam and the ocean. This racecourse is open all round the year not only to host races, but for other facilities as well like, excursions, picnic parties, and exercises.

Besides the Jeju Racecourse serves its main purpose as a racecourse with its magnificent racetrack. The racetrack in Jeju Racecourse is 1,600 meter long and 20 meter wide. The special feature of this racecourse is its examination hall, where the visitors can see the horse’s condition before the race. Jeju Racecourse also has a huge area meant for the spectators which covers from 3rd basement floor to the ground floor which can hold 3000 persons per floor. Other amenities here include, 100 monitors, 100 ticket desk, information desks and a free parking lot with a capacity to hold 2000 cars.

The Jeju Racecourse hosts races on every Saturday and Sunday. The horse race ticket price varies between 100 won to 100,000 won.

Jeju Racecourse has emerged as one of the most important of the Jeju sports venues as well as a tourism destination with an aim to protect the Jeju horses and make significant contribution through stockbreeding and tourism promotion.
