Seoul Historical Museum, Seoul records the history and culture of city of Seoul from the Stone Ages to modern times with a particular spotlight on the age of the Joseon reign. The design plans for the Seoul Museum of History was developed in 1985 and erection of the museum building was finished in the year 1997, making a cost of an estimated 34.256 billion for building construction and 29.901 billion for exhibit work. Lastly the Seoul Museum had an impressive opening ceremony on May 21, 2002. The collections mainly focus the Joseon Dynasty era with great support drawn out from a public artifacts/heritage donation campaign.

This captures the spirit of intellectual life during the Joseon era by introducing: Court Life - the mind and loftiness of the Joseon Dynasty culture; Learning - the hub of the culture of the ruling class; and Arts - the stylish and classy society and art from the era.

  -   Zone 4: Urban Development of Seoul
This Zone shows how Seoul changed and transformed with the outgoing tide of the Korean history.

Closed: Jan. 1, every Monday, other holidays designated by the head of museum
