Mount Ahcha
That's exactly the case with Mount Ahcha, Seoul. There is a beautiful legend/story behind the history of this place as well as this mountain. They say that many years ago there once lived a dumb beggar and a princess on Mt. Ahcha. The princess used to cry often. One day in order to put a stop to her crying, the King said to her that if she continues to cry, he would marry her off to the dumb beggar. Years passed and the King offered the princess's hand in marriage to a nobleman. At that time surprisingly the princess declined and demanded that she be allowed to marry the beggar. The dumb beggar later became a great general who saved Korea.Even though this mountain is only 300 meters tall, it plays a significant role in Korea's history. It is considered to be the home to an ancient cave, a cremation site, and a spiritual fountain. Admission is free over here.
That's why journeying to this mountain would be a thrilling one; and probably because of this thrill, it has become one of the favorite travelers' attractions in Seoul. Apart from making a walking trip to the peak of this 300 meters tall mountain, there are so many things to see and experience the past of this place. And the previous histories as well as landmarks hover on the ancient caves in this mountain. The cremation site is also worth visiting. Besides, on your way to the peak of this tiny mountain, you will also find a spiritual fountain which is nothing but excessively beautiful.
